March 23rd: Friends of Music Present: Carlos E. Santi

Guitarist Carlos Eugenio Santi was born in Rosario, Argentina. He has received significant national and international awards for his performances: Academia Argentina de Música, Mozarteum filial Salzburg, “Homenaje a Joaquin Rodrigo”, “Homenaje a Maria Luisa Anido” , and “Fabini International Festival”, among others. He studied with Leo Brouwer, Miguel Girollet,Eduardo Isaac, Carlos Perez, Victor Villadangos, Abel Carlevaro and Alvaro Pierri. He concluded his training with the outstanding musician, violinist and teacher Rino D’Angelo. His carreer has taken him to perform on well-known theaters and media in Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, Switzerland, Slovenia, France, Italy and Spain. Santi has worked as a guitar pedagogue in many schools: “Instituto Provincial del Profesorado de Mùsica (Music Teaching Institute) and in the “Escuela Provincial de Música de Rosario” (Music School of the Province of Rosario), Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Rosario National University), Instituto de Formación Docente Continua (Teaching School) at Villa Mercedes, San Luis. He directs the Master Degree at Mendoza on “Latin American Music Performance in the XX Century”. At present he teaches guitar and chamber music at the Universidad de Córdoba y La Rioja, where he held the chair post during 2011. He directs the Master Degree at Mendoza on “Latin American Music Performance in the XX Century”. In 2010 he published his first book “LA INTERPRETACION EN LA GUITARRA” (Guitar Performance) in Córdoba.
